KISSING WALLS - SELECTIONS

I was invited to score this six-part online series, which follows two friends as they struggle to build their careers whilst navigating the often complicated world of 21st century dating as queer men of color.

The reference tracks I was sent by the series creators encompassed 50s bebop, 60s easy listening, 70s disco, 2000s film scores and alternative music of all eras. I really enjoyed composing a soundtrack in which all those influences were reflected, while maintaining a cohesive feel and musical identity through the use of  recurring musical motifs.

Some selected scenes from the series are below (N.B. some of these are not suitable for children), and the full isolated soundtrack can be heard on streaming or in the player below the videos.

GHOST  DANCE - SOUND DESIGN & SCORE

This sound design work premiered on BBC Radio 3 in 2024, and is essentially a “score” I created around the recording of a poem by Faber & Faber author Emily Berry.

THE FALLS

I composed two songs for The Falls: Testament of Love, the second series in a trilogy of independent films. The brief was to create a song inspired by Mormon hymns which could also function as a love song between two men. The a cappella version of 'His Light Will Save Me' is the traditional hymn version and is sung by a character in the film, while the orchestrated version of the song which you can hear below is used in the soundtrack. Existing songs of mine were also used throughout the Falls trilogy.
